I've seen this costume advertised in the comics before, but I didn't really believe it was manufactured until I found it up for auction! Yes, they made a Halloween costume of a super-villain who's a confirmed Nazi!
You know, the problem with doing so many different blogs is that sometimes, you get confused as to what you've posted where -- especially when you're working as far ahead as I'm trying to! I think I've posted this puzzle on the Spider-Man blog, so if it looks familiar to you, that's why!
Here's another group of the Marvel novels, which I'm including here because of the third one, that was a collection of novellas or perhaps long short stories, including an Avengers one that eventually was adapted into the comic itself!
These novels came out in the late 1970s, if I recall correctly. Many of them were written by established comic book writers, but Joseph Silva wrote the Cap novel you see here. There had been an earlier Captain America novel, published in the 1960s, called "The Great Gold Steal," which I believe was written by Ted White.
Anyway, I used to have a lot of these novels a while ago, and I recall them being pretty good reads! I don't recall specifically if I ever had the Cap novel, though.
